Main Lodge Rooms

Canopy Room

This room gives you a feel of our European Heritage. A King Canopy bed nestles you within its cozy down mattress.

The Details

Each of our Main Lodge rooms has a very different motif. So named for its king-size canopy bed, Canopy has an Old World charm. It also has a private bathroom with a shower. The Lodge is more of an inn than a restaurant with its limited seating, reservation only, and Great Camp Dining experience; you have the additional benefit of your room in an entire Lodge. Relax in the Lobby with the fireplace, which used to be a post office and trading post in the 1800s.

The Story

The Main Lodge guest rooms are part of an iconic 1886 Great Camp built by Cathy Fisher-Otis Hohmeyer's family. It is now the longest-continuing operating lodge in the Adirondack Park. The main building is also our family's home and its role as an eatery and Speakeasy.

It has such a history, filled with authentic pioneering charm as a stagecoach inn and post office and the Old World charm of the three generations of Hohmeyer's with their European roots.

As with the unique traits of generations of family, each room has its own story.
