Two Bedroom Chalets
Sundown Chalet
The former home of Elsbeth & Ernest Hohmeyer Sr., which has a vaulted natural wood living room ceiling with wood-burning fireplace, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and a large deck that has a peek-a-boo view of the lake.
The Details
Sundown is one of the original Lodge cabins that Elsbeth & Ernest Hohmeyer Sr. intricately restored to where it became their home. It sleeps four guests with two full bedrooms and a bathroom in between. The kitchen is fully equipped, and the deck is large with a peek-a-boo view of the lake. Sundown's ambiance is one of the classic Adirondack "mini-great camps," with its rustic elegance style and nearly 1,000 square feet. There is a short walk to the Main Lodge, our picturesque beach, and other amenities, and it is pet-friendly.

Disconnect from Stress & Reconnect with Nature
Though our location in the woods and on the water creates a rejuvenating destination alone, there is no WiFi, TVs, or phones in our lodgings to ensure a serene stay with a focus on relaxation, mindfulness, and making meaningful connections. We encourage you to unplug from the stresses of daily life and instead plug into the sights and sounds of nature.
However, we understand that complete disconnection may not be an option for all our guests. For your convenience, we provide complimentary WiFi in the Main Lodge lobby and gazebo.
Additionally, cell phone carriers that use Verizon towers do have some service and LTE/data coverage.

The Story
Each time we walk by Sundown, we remember the times Ernest and Elsbeth Hohmeyer Sr. would be sitting on the deck with their various German Shepherd Dogs, and even though there is a sliver of a view of the lake, it always seems to somehow shine on them at sunset, hence the name they gave it. They intricately restored this original Lodge cabin to where it became their home. You cannot replace the detail of the hand-hewn living room with a cathedral ceiling and fireplace. Its originality has a warmth that you feel as soon as you enter. It is a partnership of standing time with nature’s seasons, as if each is part of the other and looks after the other, which is evident in its original ambiance.
